1. Overview & Local-First Processing

At MemeMaker, accessible at realmememaker.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. Unlike traditional online image editing tools, MemeMaker processes your custom uploaded images directly in your browser using modern client-side HTML5 Canvas technologies.

When you upload an image to caption it, your original image file does not get transmitted to any private server or permanent storage by default. You can edit, format, and download your memes completely privately on your device.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to provide the service:

Account Data (Optional): If you choose to authenticate via Google, GitHub, or Magic Link to save personal custom templates across devices, your email address, display name, and avatar URL are securely managed via Supabase Auth.
Local Storage Data: We store layout states, cached template selections, and offline drafts directly in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB.
Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregated site traffic, popular template usage, and bounce rates. This does not contain personally identifiable information (PII) or your generated memes.

3. How We Use Your Information

The minimal data we collect is used solely to:

Render the interactive meme canvas and support custom text generation.
Enable logged-in users to retrieve their saved personal template library.
Monitor and protect website security and uptime performance.
Improve user experience based on aggregated browser analytics.

We may employ third-party service providers to facilitate our platform:

Google Analytics: Collects anonymous session metrics to help us optimize performance.
Supabase: Provides optional secure user authentication and cloud database services.
